Choosing a “Word of the Year” is more than a fun tradition at The Crestone Senior Living. It is a powerful tool for focus and growth. A single word can guide decisions, inspire action, and unite teams around a shared purpose. By reflecting on the word selected for the year, the community gains insight into how it shaped culture, strengthened connections, and supported meaningful experiences for residents and staff. This end-of-year review allows space to celebrate successes, learn from challenges, and prepare for the year ahead.
Our Word of the Year for 2025 was Abundance, and it shaped the way our community showed up each day. We experienced abundant opportunities for growth, from rising occupancy to meaningful enrichment for both residents and staff. Even when challenges arose, the team rallied together. That shared effort helped maintain the high level of care and customer service our residents expect.

Embracing Abundance encouraged team members to look beyond their individual roles. When needed, they stepped in to support other service areas. Resident Services assisted Culinary when servers were unavailable. In return, Culinary elevated resident events with thoughtful snack offerings that showed appreciation and care. Department heads also stepped into roles outside their specialties, helping ensure the resident experience consistently exceeded expectations.
Throughout the year, collaboration and teamwork became lasting lessons. Team members strengthened communication by clearly expressing needs. Others practiced active listening to better support their colleagues. This shared focus created a stronger, more connected team. Together, the community remained committed to delivering an experience rooted in abundance for every resident.
As we reflect on the impact of our Word of the Year at The Crestone Senior Living, it is clear that one simple concept can spark meaningful change. Abundance guided priorities, strengthened community, and reinforced the values that matter most. By reviewing the outcomes connected to this word, the community celebrates progress while identifying opportunities for continued growth. These lessons will carry forward into the year ahead—because one word truly can make a difference when it is lived every day.
